Post Script

Just want to thank all of you wonderful people how much I appreciate your sweet, uplifting comments. Yes, I am sad, but I do have all those wonderful Christmas memories. One in particular was just in a few years ago. My grandsons had received these huge cans of popcorn from my brother. My daughter told the little one at the time, my Zach, that he couldn't have any right then. He began with his typical temper tantrums and my father began to just tease him by telling him to shush in both English and Spanish. I suppose Zach had had enough and turned around and pointed to my Dad and yelled out "You a caca!!" Normally, he would have gotten a spanking for that, but it was so random, we all broke out laughing.

The good news I want to tell you, is that I will have all my babies with me at Christmas. The ex texted me, of course, and told me to go ahead and buy the ticket, so we're all set. Now to wait outside his driveway on Sunday when I take Ian back home and wait for my check!!! LOL

Again thank you all for your comments...I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends out there in the world...you all means so much to me. Peace out and blessings.

I was just cleaning out some of my mom and dad's mementos to try and organize them. I found a card to me from the Holy Names Convent where my mom went to school.
It said
God gave us memories so that we might have roses in December.
God winks!!!!!

Georgina - I missed your last post and now that I have gone back and read it, I wish I could say something that would magically take away your sorrow. I know from personal experience that there will be moments in the coming years, such as Christmas, where the grief has begun to numb a bit, but then there will still be times that it will rip through you like a fresh wound. At those times allow yourself a good sobbing cry and then take a deep breath and count your blessings and the family that you have.
I only had one set of grandparents because my mothers parents had passed before I was born. When I was 13, my living grandparents passed away within 3 months of each other. When I was fourteen, my mother passed because of cancer. When I was 16, my favorite uncle passed also. In the following years all my aunts and uncles passed and then 15 years ago, my father who I saw and talked to almost daily, died suddenly of a heart attack. I was devastated and it was a long journey for me out of a deep dark hole of mourning.
BUT I have my sister, her husband and 3 beautiful nieces that all live in the same city as me and I'm able to see them and spend holidays with them. I have a houseful of critters who are my furry children and I have some wonderful friends. This is what I focus on when I start feeling blue. Count your blessings and cherish your wonderful memories, Your friend- Cindi

I saw the picture from your previous post and must say you have such a lovely family! I'm sorry about your Father, I know life is never the same when they're gone. It's good you'll be surrounded by all your babies for the Holidays. Enjoy and cherish each moment. That is all we can do.

Georgina,
Oh, I am so glad you will be with all your babies:)
I love the saying from the card that Peggy shared. It is comforting and so true.
I smiled, when you shared the memory of your dad and the little one, your Zach.

Take care,
~Diane

Georgina, I would have been here sooner but I was under the weather a little. I'm better now and glad to hear your spirits have lifted. Be happy, that's what life is all about. HAPPINESS and FAMILY. Take care and enjoy.

Again thank you all for your wonderful comments. My hubby told me he knew I was crashing...said I wasn't smiling or laughing like I always do, plus the lack of interest in the studio was a dead giveaway. But I'm feeling better....it waxes and wanes, but over all, I know it's going to be rough at times. I'm sure it will be much better surrounded by my children and grandchildren at Christmas...they'll ease the pain and the grandchildren's laughter will definitely keep my sadness at bay. I am looking forward to this new adventure and I love Peggy's comment...I'm going to copy it on a plaque and keep it where I can see it which will bring me much peace and solace. Anne, don't worry about sending your little birdie...his neighborhood is inundated with pidgeons!!! hahahahaha!!! Cindi, thanks you for your kind words and your story...you're one helluva a lady!! Pam, Diane, Sophia and YaYa, you're all so wonderful...thank you so much. Crazy Linda, I'm getting that mental pic...I see both of us doing the happy dance!! LOL

LOVE YOU ALL!!
