A Most Lovely Gift

For those who are not familiar with Magaly Perez Ohika's work, well, I want to introduce her to you. She's this wonderful happy little spirit that lives in Connecticut, living happily with her beloved, her cat and a new puppy in their recently moved home.

I first met Magaly, as many of us have met, through blogs. I found her blog on someones else's and the rest is history. We've been leaving comments on each others blogs, plus corresponding via emails. This wonderful friendship has developed between this very special young woman and me. When she was going to move into her new home, I told her I'd send her a little house warming gift. She decided we'd just send each other pieces of our artwork. Well, you could have knocked me down with a feather, (and you know I'm no light weight) when I received this package yesterday and found these 2 absolutely adorable paintings. The Frida painting is called, "Frida's Charm and Wonderful Style," and the other is, "Beauty." Her work is magical, always uplifting and comforting.

If you haven't discovered her yet, please do so. You can find her at:

I can assure you, you'll love her work...if you don't, then you're a big grump!!!

Another person I want to pass along his link is Jonty, a English fellow I met some time back in one of my Yahoo groups. He makes the most "bitchen" stuff you've ever seen out of paper mache. One of the many marvelous things about Jonty, is that he shares so much of his knowledge with his readers...he has great tutorials. Check him out at http://darksidecreations.blogspot.com
Well dear readers, I must return to the ol' idiot box to get my fix of zombie and monster flicks on the SyFy channel. Peace out.

You are SO right! I LOVE Magaly's art work, she is SO talented!
She is also such a sweet and kind person. She has left me some very nice comments on my blog (both about my kitties and my art) and YOU are so sweet to tell others about her. I have found some wonderful people through blogs! ... well, gotta go now and check out your recommendation of the "Jonty" blog!

I'm back! WOW! that Jonty is detailed! I remember trying papier mache about 13 years ago when I wanted to try entering "The Great Mask Exhibit" during the Halloween Bash down in the district of my town, it was my first attempt and I made a mermaid head and won 3rd place! Later I made a full mermaid and she got knocked over and her nose broke off so I put her in a collectibles consignment shop and she sold! broken off nose and all. Then some sad stuff happened in my life and I quit creating for quite awhile and when I started again I tried painting and art dolls, now after see this Jonty's blog it's kinda got me thinking again about papier mache, hmmmm......

Wonderful work!!! What a disrinct style in a time when there is a lot that looks pretty much alike.
Can I utterly ENVY YOU for at least a few minutes??? ;)
I'll have to check both sites....need to send the links to myself in an e-mail so I don't forget.
Today is a *couch* day.....gonna try and do a blog post, but maybe not.
I too will be luxuriating in horror movies!!!

XXOO!!

Wow how kindly put & so sweet, your gonna make my head swell with pride here lol. Thankyou, thankyou so much.

I beilieve the more you share the more people learn. The more people learn the more then (hopefully) gets shared back in return lol. Well thats a theory anyway lol.

Anyway again thankyou so much. Things to do just posted the first part in custom mask making that ANYONE can do lol. Again a theory lol.

Back soon for another stroll through your site the minute i get some free time.
